I’m an early childhood special education teacher, ELA content specialist, teacher mentor, parent coach, wife, toddler mom and a chocolate addict.

I envision an equitable school system that values building genuine relationships, provides all students access to learning, and celebrates diversity. I am passionate about a holistic approach to behavior modification in which connection is valued over compliance and behavior is seen as communication.

With a dual Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Columbia University paired with over 10 years of professional experience, I consider myself an expert on advocating for and empowering young children. I am here to help you do the same for yours.

I was truly inspired by my student teaching experience with you! At my new job, I am making a questionnaire to send to the families to learn more about them and I am making individualized binders just like you did! I am so lucky to have learned from you. Thank you for showing me how special it is to be a teacher in a self-contained classroom!

Lindsay, Student Teacher

You have been a blessing in my child's and my life. You are far more than a teacher to me, you are family. You are the type of teacher that goes above and beyond for her kids and we definitely need more people like you in this world. My son has improved so much with your support, he has become more vocal and independent. Having a child with autism i not easy but it has been such a blessing to me and you have helped me every step of the way. I can't thank you enough! You inspire me and we love you so much!

Kristine, Mother

Thank you so much for opening up your classroom and helping me learn and grow as a teacher. Your classroom was unique from any other classroom I've been in and your feedback and guidance made me feel prepared and confident in teaching early childhood special education. Thank you so much for everything you have done, I am so grateful!

Maria, Student Teacher

My experience as a mother of an autistic child has been challenging at times but I must say my son has been blessed to have such a phenomenal teacher throughout his beginning stages of school. Samreen has been a phenomenal educator and second mother to my son. She showed me ways to continue supporting his growth outside of the classroom which has helped him in his social, emotional and educational journey. She is caring to all of her students and their families as she encourages her students to be their best and pushes them to achieve their highest potential. I am so glad to have worked with her and for my son to have such a beautiful teacher!

Almitra, Mother

It was a pleasure working in your classroom. I really appreciate how dedicated and passionate you are about teaching the children. In your classroom, you wore more than just the hat of the teacher. You were a listener, helper, coach and cheerleader as well. Thank you for being able to wear all these hats at once while making a difference!

Nedeska, Student Teacher

Being a parent of a child with special needs is not easy. It is very helpful to have a person who knows and understands the ins and outs. Having you in our corner has truly been a blessing. I always felt at peace when my son was in your class, knowing he was being taught by an AMAZING teacher who also cherished and encouraged his own interests. We love you!!
